International Student Admissions
California State law clarifies that a student must be 18 or a high school graduate by the time their first semester begins. The minimum age to attend CCC/DVC/LMC as an international student is 16 years old. However, a 16-year-old must be considered a high school graduate.

TRANSFER OF CREDIT
Our colleges do not evaluate foreign post-secondary (college/university) transcripts for course waivers or transfer credits. Transcripts submitted with your application are for admission purposes only. If you wish to apply for credit transfer (for an Associate’s Degree at CCC, DVC, or LMC), your transcript(s) must first be evaluated by a NACES member organization. Evaluations must include a course-by-course report with semester unit equivalencies, distinguishing between upper- and lower-division coursework and including course descriptions and letter grades. The appropriate academic department at CCC, DVC, or LMC would then review it.
Please note that foreign coursework cannot be used to certify California State University General Education (CSU GE) or IGETC requirements, except for the IGETC Language Other Than English requirement. Students who intend to transfer are advised to review the transfer institution's policy.
Additionally, prospective students intending to transfer to a 4-year institution after CCC/DVC/LMC (and not obtain an Associate’s Degree) do not need their transcripts from outside the U.S. evaluated. These individuals should speak with an academic counselor at the respective college (CCC, DVC, or LMC).
